Every menopause journey is different.
With the right guidance from our Tanunda Physio & Health team, you can feel strong, capable, in control and confident in your body.

5 Impacts of Menopause We Can Help:
- Muscle Mass Loss
- Increased Fracture Risk
- Mental health decline
- Reduced tendon, ligament & Joint health
- Genitourinary Symptoms (continence, sexual wellbeing)
Build Strong Bones, Reduce Fracture Risk
- Up to 20 per cent of bone density can be lost in the 5-7 years following menopause
- exercise programs like our Bone Health program have been shown to slow bone loss & enhance skeletal strength, especially when implemented early
- This is especially helpful when started early (perimenopause), before changes take effect
Reverse / Prevent Declining Muscle Mass
- Declining oestrogen contributes to accelerated loss of muscle mass
(1-1.5%/yr in menopause)
- Exercise programs including strength training are effective in maintaining & improving lean muscle mass, strength & function during & after menopause
- We will identify & address early signs of muscle loss in midlife women
Good Mental Health & Cognitive Clarity
- Hormonal fluctuations cause sleep disturbances, fatigue, anxiety, depression, mood changes & cognitive symptoms such as ‘brain fog’
- Anxiety and depression during menopause have been shown to correlate with poorer physical function
- Evidence supports exercise as a key driver in improving mood & cognition
- We can support you with tailored exercises to help your mental wellbeing
Strong & Healthy Tendons, Ligaments & Joints
- More than 70 per cent of women experience changes in tendon/ligament due to hormonal changes, making them more prone to stiffness, microtears, joint instability and pain
- We will tailor an exercise program focused on strength, flexibility and stability to help maintain tendon and ligament health
Pelvic Health, Continence & Sexual Wellbeing
- Genitourinary syndrome affects over 50% of postmenopausal women.
- Symptoms can lead to genital, sexual & urinary dysfunction
- These include frequency / urge incontinence, pain urinating, vaginal prolapse, pain with intercourse.
- We can provide targeted pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation as part of the management (alongside medical management)
