Surgery Rehabilitation and prevention in Tanunda, Barossa Valley

Have you had surgery and want to make sure you have a good recovery with long term benefits?

Are you trying to avoid or delay surgery?

Tanunda Physio & Health can make sure you move well so that you can feel great and be your best, pre or post surgery.

You’ve had surgery, what next?

Unfortunately surgery isn’t the solution, it is just the beginning of your recovery.

While we all like the quick fix, surgery isn’t that silver bullet many are looking for.

Most people who are unhappy with the success of their surgery simply didn’t do their rehab! This leads to continued pain, loss of movement, strength & function. Commonly the end result is either more unnecessary surgery or giving up and accepting the loss in quality of life.

Countless studies prove the importance of appropriate rehabilitation following surgery for all areas of the body. This involves high quality physiotherapy with an individually tailored exercise program – both we provide at Tanunda Physio & Health.

The booklet of exercises the surgeon gives you after the operation simply isnt enough! That is a basic starting point, not the individually tailored answer to best outcomes and sustained benefits.

Unsure if you need or want surgery?

Many commonly recommended operations are avoidable by undergoing a quality physiotherapy program.

Some surgery can be avoided all together. Some can be significantly delayed.

In most cases, a minimum 6-12 week period of physiotherapy is strongly recommended before considering surgery. Even if this doesn’t prevent surgery, it helps you have better results following it.

If you have a pain that you are considering surgery for, please contact us for an assessment and we can provide you a clear understanding of the cause of the pain & inform you on if and how physiotherapy can help.

If appropriate, our team will work with you through a quality conservative management program. As a trusted health professional, if your problem can not be helped by physiotherapy we will also assist you in deciding that and be able to help you with what the most appropriate path for you is.
