ME THE PHYSIO
MY PHYSIO BACKGROUND
I was originally interested within physiotherapy profession through seeing its impact upon individuals within my various sporting clubs. Observing how they were able to return my teammates to the field in the same or even better condition inspired and intrigued me.
I initially completed a year of Exercise and Sport Science to develop my foundational understanding of the human body before transferring into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours).
WHY I CHOSE TO BE A PHYSIO
Being inspired by local physio’s at a young age lead me to want to rehabilitate many of my own injury’s that I sustained through participating in sport. Seeing that I had the capability to optimise my own health empowered me to impart that right to as many people as I could.
WHY I LOVE BEING A PHYSIO
I love being able to help people become a better version of themselves, whether that be through reducing their pain, improving their movement, or developing their strength. Having the opportunity to guide individuals back to their goal’s is incredibly fulfilling.
WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?
My experiences of being involved in so many sports have allowed for greater insights into the underlying movement patterns and demands of sport on various athletic populations.
I can combine this knowledge with my skills in assessment of movement to find the underlying causes of your symptoms. We can then work together to reduce your initial pain before optimising your function to achieve or surpass your goals.
TOP TIPS
BEST WAY TO KEEP ACTIVE & HEALTHY
Why can’t exercise and activity be fun? Not everything has to be sets and reps. I feel the best place to start is to really think about your goals and what you enjoy doing. After that, all that is left is linking them together.
MOVEMENT TIP
Try the stairs rather than the elevator.
Pace the room whilst taking a phone call
or responding to an email.
You don’t always need to set aside time to exercise, opportunities present themselves all throughout our day.
MY CORE MESSAGE IS
You will be surprised what you can achieve!
GUIDING QUOTE
Strive for progress, not perfection. Each effort you make is a step closer to the person you aspire to be.
