Hydrotherapy in Tanunda, Barossa Valley
Do you find movement difficult or painful? Recovering from surgery or early stages of injury? Looking for a form of exercise you will enjoy?
Hydrotherapy (Aquatic Physiotherapy) is a great form of exercise and rehab when you need an environment that is easier to move well. This may be after surgery or when learning new movements.
Tanunda Physio & Health’s unique location provides direct access to the rehabilitation pool for hydrotherapy.
What to expect from hydrotherapy?
- Your physiotherapist will design an individual program to suit your needs.
- Small group or one-on-one are available
- We may also develop an individual program for you to complete in your own time.
When may hydrotherapy be beneficial?

- Low muscle tone & strength

- post operative rehabilitation (shoulder, total knee/hip replacement, knee reconstruction)

Hydrotherapy can be used in all age groups from young children to the elderly due to the ability to make movement easier, while being fun and engaging.
Why hydrotherapy helps?
- the heated water is relaxing for muscles and joints
- movement is made easier and more comfortable
- buoyancy of water reduces load on joints
- it is easier to learn and perform new, challenging movements before transitioning that to land
- the water can provide resistance or assistance depending on your needs
- you may be able to move and exercise to a level in the pool that you can’t on land
How do I book?
A standard initial consultation is required before commencing a hydrotherapy program.
This ensures you are suitable for hydrotherapy and allows an individual program to be developed according to your needs.
If you are already attending treatments, hydrotherapy can be discussed with your therapist
Individual Hydrotherapy consults have options for 30 or 40 minute 1-1 sessions.
Group hydrotherapy sessions are 40minutes and limited to 6 people per group.
Please arrive early so you can be be changed and ready to commence sessions at the scheduled time (Change room/shower facilities available)
