A BIT ABOUT ME

FAMILY

The most important thing to me is my family, in particular my amazing wife Cassie and my 2 beautiful young daughters.

INTERESTS

I am a sports- especially football- fanatic and a passionate Crows supporter.

FAVOURITE LOCAL RESTAURANT / CAFÉ

So many choices but Hentley Farm as the place I proposed to my wife is #1.

GUILTY PLEASURE

Definite sweet tooth and enjoy a good coffee or 3, preferably home brewed myself.

FAVOURITE WAY TO STAY ACTIVE

Find a strenuous job in the garden- combining exercise with being productive!

FAVOURITE PLACE TRAVELLED TO

Paris, closely followed by Marrakech, both on my 2017 honeymoon. Each has a unique culture and something amazing to see everywhere you look.

MOST FAMOUS PERSON I HAVE MET

I was lucky enough to go backstage with Metallica in 2010.

SOMETHING THAT MAY SURPRISE YOU

Despite my long blonde hair, I am not, nor have I ever been a surfer… (I do however get asked all the time)

ME THE PHYSIO

MY PHYSIO BACKGROUND

I have over 13 years experience as a private practice physio since graduating in 2008.

In 2015 I took the leap to open my own clinic in Tanunda as I felt it was the best way for me to offer the level of care I wanted to provide.

To help people is what drives me as a physio. There is a limit to how many people you can directly help personally, and so I now get great satisfaction from building a team who share the same values and who can provide help to so many more people than I could myself. In addition to working with people like yourself, I now spend a significant part of my week working with our team, so that we can have the best clinic and services possible, to help as many people as we can.

We have quickly grown to what we are now and I hope you can join our community and experience the benefits we can provide.

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A PHYSIO?

I went into physio initially thanks to a love of sport but quickly realised there is more to physiotherapy than that.

While I still love sport and enjoy working with active people I also love working with people of all different backgrounds.

WHY I LOVE BEING A PHYSIO?

I love being able to genuinely make a positive impact on peoples lives and meeting & building relationships with people throughout that process.

Seeing the impact of getting people back to doing the things that are important to them is why I do this. I never get sick of being told “I haven’t felt like this for years” or “I didn’t think I could do that again”.

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?

In my 2nd decade as a physio, I have developed a niche of expertise in assessing movement of the human body. I find the cause of your problem- not just chase the symptoms- to give faster and longer lasting relief. This can be applied to all injuries and areas of the body.

By correcting movement patterns we can get not only relief from pain, but significantly improved function & performance and prevent re-injury.

Working with people beyond the pain to help them do things they couldn’t even do before having their injury is where a physio can add true value to someone’s life and that’s something I strive to do for every person I see.

TOP TIPS

BEST WAY TO KEEP ACTIVE & HEALTHY

Find a form of exercise that you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy it, it wont be sustainable.

MOVEMENT TIP

Make sure you do exercises with the correct movement technique, even if it means using less load or doing a less challenging version of an exercise. Training a movement you are doing incorrectly only reinforces that error, overloads the body and causes injury.

MY CORE MESSAGE IS

Short term relief from localised treatments is great…for the short term. But is that all you want?

Finding and treating the cause of your problem allows you to move well, so you can continue to do the things you want to do without the pain returning. Not only will it give faster, longer lasting relief- it will make movement easier and help you perform better.

Over time, isolated quick fixes are proven to be inconvenient, costly and ineffective in comparison to taking preventative measures.
