Why we don’t guess with your health and wellbeing

If you’re not measuring you’re guessing!

Tanunda Physio & Health has invested in your health and wellbeing by introducing the AxIT technology to our clinic.

Previously been only available to elite sports teams, this is now available to you!

What is AxIT?

This advanced muscle strength and performance testing technology allows us to measure how you move.

We will find out exactly how well your muscles are performing.

Fast and accurate, AxIT may be used as part of your regular consult, as well as with specific assessment sessions designed to assess your performance

Why do we use AxIT?

Have you ever had a physio tell you to push into their hand and then tell you if it is strong or weak?

Would you be surprised if I told you that research tells us this way of testing muscle performance is highly inaccurate?

What if I told you that the muscles we test should be capable of generating force equivalent to anywhere from 30% to 300% your own body weight in a maximal strength test?

We like to think we are fit and healthy, but our own strength wont allow us to accurately distinguish between 150% and 300% of your body weight in power!

But AxIT does!

And it does it safely and efficiently.

What will an AxIT test tell us?

Simply put – Strength and power data

  • peak force
(your 1 rep max, the most force you can generate in a single effort)
  • Rate of force development
(the speed the muscle can create force)

Some specific jumping/landing based tests will also tell us vertical jump, ground reaction time, and other important measurements for fast movements (such as running and jumping)

Then we give context

The data is then interpreted in relation to age/sex adjused normal values and key research on how these numbers relate to your pain, injury or performance

We also identify imbalances from side to side that increase risk of injury.

Importantly, we help you understand what the numbers mean and what we need to do about it.

Reach your biggest goals

As we work with you to overcome your problem and reach your goals AxIT allows us to monitor your progression.

This allows us to more accurately design and progress your rehabilitation program.
It improves motivation to reach the numbers needed to help you achieve your goals.

Who is AxIT Strength testing for?

Not just for athletes!

This type of muscle testing will add value to every person we see.
In all pain or injury, muscle function will have a role in the cause and/or recovery.

If you are a sports person it is an essential tool in a proper rehab and reducing risk of injury on return to sport.

If you are uninjured but looking to prevent injury or improve performance, this testing will highlight where you can focus more on in your exercise program to most improve, and motivate you to keep hitting bigger numbers and getting better s a result.

If you have injury, are post surgery or any other pain, AxIT will allow us to test the movements and muscles relevant to your problem so you can better understand why you are having your problem and we can better guide you on your journey to recovery.

You will be amazed at the information we can show you and how that will help you better understand your problem and what you can do to overcome it!
